Services

Dr. Carter’s neuropsychological services are tailored for people with known or suspected neurological disorders or their family members.

Assessment

A neuropsychological assessment is an in-depth assessment that helps determine strengths and weaknesses in thinking skills and brain function. Thinking skills that are typically assessed include attention, language, visuospatial skills, memory, speed of processing information, and problem-solving.  A detailed report of the assessment results with recommendations is usually completed.

Intervention

A neuropsychological assessment is the basis for recommendations for appropriate intervention and/or rehabilitation. Individual sessions for cognitive rehabilitation strategies, psychoeducation, and psychotherapy are available if indicated by the assessment. Sometimes assessment results suggest that referral to other types of service providers would be the best treatment.
